Susan’s Brisket in the Oven

Ingredients

  • 1 brisket
  • Dry rub (your favorite)
  • Chopped bell pepper, onion, and celery (from HEB or similar)
  • 1 sweet onion, sliced thick
  • Marinade of your choice
  • Balsamic vinegar (a little for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Rub the brisket with dry rub on both sides.
  2. Place in a large roasting pan. Pour marinade over the brisket and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Remove from refrigerator. Cover with chopped veggies and sliced sweet onion.
  4. Drizzle a little balsamic vinegar over the top.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350°F for 4 hours.
  6. Let it rest about 30 minutes before slicing.
