Diane’s Baked Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion and garlic, chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper
  • Basil and oregano
  • ½ (16 oz) package lasagna noodles
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1½ cups cottage cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) package sliced mozzarella cheese
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
  3. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano. Simmer 1 hour.
  4. Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water until tender; drain.
  5. Mix egg, cottage cheese, and 1 tsp salt.
  6. Layer in a greased pan: sauce/meat, noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  7. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes.
  8. Let stand 10–15 minutes before serving.
