Diane’s Baked Lasagna
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion and garlic, chopped
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
- Salt and pepper
- Basil and oregano
- ½ (16 oz) package lasagna noodles
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1½ cups cottage cheese
- 1 (8 oz) package sliced mozzarella cheese
- ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, pepper, basil, and oregano. Simmer 1 hour.
- Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water until tender; drain.
- Mix egg, cottage cheese, and 1 tsp salt.
- Layer in a greased pan: sauce/meat, noodles, cottage cheese mixture, mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Let stand 10–15 minutes before serving.
