Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1½ to 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 small cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion; cook until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender.
  2. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
  3. Add chopped cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  4. Cover and simmer 20–30 minutes or until cabbage is tender.

Yield: Serves 6–8
